designing tangible emotion

About

Established in 2017

I'm Bridget! I opened Rhapsody in Bloom in August of 2017 after contemplating what my dream job would look like. My background is in costume design and theater. Thinking these would be my future, plants entered my life through a class in botany and I haven't looked back. It was my mother who suggested I combine my love for theater and art with my love of plants and science. With that, I decided to study Ornamental Horticulture. A few years in, a friend asked if I wanted to design flowers for her wedding. I hadn't a clue what I was doing but dove in head-first. That was 2014. Now, I am creating floral arrangements full time. Taking a giant leap of faith, I officially began my wedding and event floral business in 2017. I continuously study, attend conferences, enroll in classes, and learn as much as I can about flowers each day. Supplying flowers for such an important day is one of my greatest joys.

Whenever I'm not washing buckets, processing flowers, or planning weddings, I am either walking my dog - Violette - or attempting to cuddle my cats Fern and Moss. (They're not as enthusiastic about me as I am about them.) My husband, Andrew, commonly referred to as "Bucket Boy," is my rock. He and my family support me when I deliver flowers, set up, and tear down events. Rhapsody in Bloom, a business I've managed to carve out of nothing, continues to fuel me throughout some of the most difficult years we as a collective have been through. I hope my passions for flowers and floral arrangements continue to bring people joy for many years to come.

I look forward to learning more about you and working with you!

Bridget
